A new year is my excuse to look back to how things are and make a few changes. I have a little over a year before my time arrives to finish this list so I am going to make it a priority this year and try to accomplish as much as possible. I'm trying to find the balance between realistic and hopeful and have set my goal in completing at least 75 items from the list before February 2018 comes around. We'll see how it goes!

Original list: here!

Start date: June 1st, 2015
End date: February 26th, 2018

Progress: 12/101

1. Read 101 books. (31/101)
Here's one challenge that I just won't finish in time, but oh well. Since my last update I have read five more books: The Neverending Story (Michael Ende); Just Kids (Patti Smith); Lady Susan, The Watsons and Sanditon (Jane Austen); The Picture of Dorian Gray (Oscar Wilde), and Born A Crime (Trevor Noah).

7. Read books by authors from 11 different countries. (3/11)
Trevor Noah is South African and his book is amazing because if you, like me, know little about the country and its history, it will only show you that you know even less than you thought, while giving you a small insight that makes you want to know more.

8. Read 11 non-fiction books. (8/11)
By my last update I had read three books for this category I didn't count: salt. and Nejma by Nayyirah Waheed, and bone by Yrsa Daley-Ward. Patti Smith's Just Kids and Trevor Noah's Born a Crime join the list.

11. Watch 101 movies. (61/101)
Funnily enough I've barely made progress with the easiest one: only Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them and Barry.

34. Cut off alcohol for 3 months straight, no exceptions.
About 3 days for now, but I hope to get to the end of March without a sip!

2. Complete Goodreads 2016 reading challenge. (15/24)
I couldn't, so it's going to go out to make space for the 2017 challenge!

6. Read at least 30 books from my Goodreads' to-read list. (1/30)
This one goes out altogether. That list is ever-growing and I don't even know how to properly track this, nor do I care that much about it, so bye bye!

17. Mad Men.
30. Get my nails done professionally.
41. Study or do 45m of homework every day for a month. (0/30)
70. Write at least 2 pieces in Spanish (too much writing in English lately). (0/2)

These either aren't relevant anymore (like homework) or I don't care about them anymore (like my nails).

31. Follow Blogilates' calendar/s for a month straight.
32. Follow Blogilates' calendar/s for 3 months in a row.

Currently and probably for the long run, I don't really have the space at home to follow anything like this, so I'm putting it aside for now.

38. Plan and do a short morning work-out every day for a month.
I work shifts so this is going out of the window as well for now.

*54. Complete the 2016 getyourwordsout challenge. Pledge: 250,000 words. (45k/250k)
I failed, but I joined the 2017 challenge with a 150k pledge that may still be too ambitious since I have yet to learn how to balance work and life, but I don't get scared of challenges!

82. Have 200€ in savings.
Changing it to 500 now that I have a job! No more because I want to get a tattoo and possibly travel some, so I have to keep it realistic, I guess!

50. Get a job.
62. Move abroad.
Towards the end of November I packed my things, moved here, and got a job in 4 days. I'm still in probation but I do believe it's going well, I enjoy it, I have my own house and am finally economically independent. This were two of the biggest and (I thought) most difficult challenges I included in this list, and that I accomplished them makes me tremendously proud of myself. YAY FOR BEING BRAVE.

And there we go. I've also cleaned up the list and changed some things. Let's see how it goes from now on. I hope your lists are going well! Happy new year, everyone. May 2017 bring you happiness, wonderful surprises and a great time ♥

I failed my getyourwordsout pledge last year, too. Whoops? We could be writing/accountability buddies, if you want.

That sounds great to me! How would that work, though?

That is amazing, especially finishing huge tasks like getting a job and moving abroad. Great work!

And I'm fascinated that you read Micheal Ende's "Neverending Story" - it's my favorite since I was a child and I'm very devided on wether or not I'd like to see it made into a movie. The technology now allows to create all those landscapes and creatures, but it could easily end up being a CGI orgy with all the thoughts and ideas of the book falling flat.

What did you think of the book?

Also, I loved the book! I am about 80% sure I also read as a kid, but just once many years ago and I barely remembered the story, especially the second part. I remembered the movie and knew I loved the story, so I got it. I'm not sure if I'd want a movie precisely because of what you said. On the other hand, I think there are a handful of very creative directors out there right now that could make it justice.

Congrats on moving abroad! I am also doing the GYWO challenge and the 101 in 1001 (mine starts 1 March of this year). I wish you luck in all your endeavours.
