NaNoWriMo felt like such a big accomplishment, I thought I had more to say about November…

• visit Hokkaido with Anna
Due to circumstances beyond my control (and beyond her control), this one had to be dropped. Anna had to bump up her departure date from late March to late January 2017 and we just don't have the time and money for this trip on such short notice. Who wants to go to Hokkaido in January, anyway? Anna hates crowds, so we wouldn't want to visit the Sapporo Snow Festival, but hotels would all be charging out the nose - assuming there are any left to book. I still plan to visit Hokkaido someday, but it won't be the trip I had in mind when I wrote this goal.

• participate in the Oji Fox Parade
I planned on doing this this year, but since it's Anna's last New Year's in Japan, I let her call the shots for what we're gonna do, and she wants to have a chill night and not go too far or get too dressed up. So this is on hold until next year.

• win NaNoWriMo every year
I did it! I finished with 50,007 words on November 29th. The last sentence of this year's novel project was, fittingly enough, "I'm proud of you, kid."
